newbie, first mods to my ski

ok so i am new to the fourm and i just bought my first ski yesterday. its a 1993 750sx. i have been riding for about 2 years, but never owned my own.

the ski came with many mods.

dual 44mm muniki carbs
factory wet pipe
msd water injection
k&n spark arrestor/ filter
intake grate, impeller, ride plate.
primer
aftermarket bildge

i want to get big into freestyle and freeriding and im not sure what i need to do to the ski to do that. i have no clue what the specs are on the impeller, and intake grate. i know i want a better sounding pipe. the ski is fast, but i dont think it is as fast as it should be with those mods. is there any tuning tips or ideas. im open to anything. do i need to do anything to the hull

why should i buy a superjet, i have ridden them, and i dont like the way they feel as much...is there advantages to them? anyway i prolly wont sell my ski, cause i really like it a lot. is it bad for freestyle or something. i just want to know what i can do to make it better

much more dependable
more mods
more power (low end)
lighter
looser handling

it's just an all around better ski...

your ski can be made to do basic freestyle tricks or "old school" tricks, but don't really expect too much out of it... People are just trying to help you not waste money on a ski that is not really "good" for freestyle/freeride.. W/ that said, I can't help you w/ mods, I ride a SJ too
:cool2:

in first post did you say you had an msd enhancer? if not get one, you dont need water injection on a wet pipe, just tune it ( may help ). Get a lighter flywheel. Get a 9/17 skat swirl prop, scoop grate, and if you dont want to go fast get a short, smooth ride plate.

this was the night we said farewell to everything GREEN :Banane01:

enjoy your ski though....ride it for a year, read up like a madman on the X and you'll be looking for a SJ before you know it....

so im sure i will keep my ski, and i will make it the best i can and get a sj down the road...as for the mods go.

i have a factory wet pipe, but was thinking of going to a dry pipe, is there any advantages or disadvantages?

i have msd water injection, but have no clue how to use it.

what do i need to do to tune my ski

so i guess all i need is a scoop grate and a skat prop.

is there anything i should do to modify the hull or pole

how short should the pole be if im only 5'10"

I have a 93 750 sx also and I love it! I will admit that it is heavy though and I miss my old js550 because they are light as a feather. I have never rode a superjet, but I would like to try one out one day.

I have factory pipe, scat track impeller, R&D intake grate. I am about to cut a half circle in the stock ride plate for better freestyle and plan on getting duel blackjack 46mm carbs for it soon. I also plan on installing waterdawg footholds and straps and black diamond hydro turf all around. I have already ordered all the paint for repainting the ski.

kawa green top, black hull, black handle pole

Can't wait to get to work on it.

might as well shorten the pole while you are doing all that work

i just picked up an aluminum pole that is 1" shorter. i wanted to go shorter than that, but it was only $150 so i said what the heck...i got it from a guy at extreme toyz.

many of us run -6.5" poles

you can still shorten the aluminum....cut out a chunk, take to local welder and it shouldnt be more than 20 bucks..

then spraybomb it and done!

I did that to my square pole... got tons of pics at home of the mod too
