NITRO C-1 Visual Carbon Hull by DJR Ltd

Excellent! I am in total agreement on the resin vs clear vs gel. Solid surface is always the way to go for longevity. I also like the lines/tubes will be carbon. The one miss I think is aluminium inserts. It doesn't matter what coating or treatment you put on aluminum, with carbon its not a matter of if it will corrode, but when. Have you considered naval brass or stainless? Curious as to whether or not you've givin this thing a salt water dunk yet?

Aluminium is really the only option for parts like engine mountings when you weigh it up.

For inserts we have our own brass made inserts for pump mountings very similar to standard OEM Yamaha Superjet, so you have your choice there if you wanted to switch to brass.

Anodising the aluminium offers alot of protection against these problems. It has worked well with engine mounts etc for alot of manufacturers of hulls for years :)

Stainless would be too heavy for parts such as the engine mounting blocks as they are quite large and already add significant weight even in aluminium. Also a huge issue with stainless would be seizing of bolts in inserts as 99% of skis use all stainless bolts. One seized and you would have a huge job to repair it...

Brass is good but it doesn't bond as well to the carbon as the aluminium does!

And yes we have had the hull in salt water with no issues :) Once I transfer all of the 1200 gear from the prototype into a new hull, the prototype will be thrown in some big surf with a 701 setup

So im back after a pleasent trip to Uk and Djr Ltd. :)
I had two buddies, who went to Manchester UK, one day before me (Saterday). One guy from Pitch components and one from LM productions. I was picked up by my friends and set off to Djr Ltd.
Once arrived at Djr, we were welcomed by Dan. We immediately fell into conversation, Dan is super down to earth and easy to get along.
He had the prototype assembled NITRO on a shop stand, ready to pack in the van, when we would go to the lake. The ski is stunningly beautiful.
He showed us the top deck he popped a few days ago a, and when we picked our jaws up from the floor, we talked about the hull and ski. The craftmans ship is incredible.
The design you can hate, like or love – I love the stealth look. But the details and craftmans ship is something you can only appreciate and if you have any idea or worked with composite parts you really do understand that this is next level stuff. They edges on the sharp angles is so crazy crisp (takes a lot of time and effort to get visual look with these crisp edges – and not gel coat filled)

Dan is extremely open about his build and really tells you page up and down about all that went into molding and layup (wich I soak in and just love : ) We talked about layup schedule, everything is put in spreadsheets to log everything from carbon, resin to layup for each specific hull. This is really impressive with logging of all stuff, that goes into every hull. Extremely professional production!
On top of this, Dan really listen if you have wishes for your build, he truly want you to have the hull you dream about – and make it YOUR hull! How great is that.
We went to the lake to take ski for a spin.
The lake was very low when we got there. I think about 80-100cm on the deepest part. After Dan took it for a warm up, and showed throwed some huge rolls, that left us speechless. It was time to ride it.
The NITRO really is a nice ride. It rides on top of the water and was easy to get the tail to get “loose”. It was pretty easy to do 180 and 360 on, spins really nice and easy. The hull had a good pop and netural pop of the water. Recovery/landings was more stable than im used to, properly due to the adjustable footholds with about 2” wider stance than my KVX/DVX.
It had a lot of the same feeling of my KVX/DVX, so I felt at home on this ski.
With the lake not being deeper at the moment, I woudlt go for flips, didn’t feel like risking my health or the ski, I know this would be easy as nothing with this ski.
My buddy who took it for a spin, is used to a hull that is a bit wider. He thinks my KVX is narrow and unstable, and is having a hard time riding my KVX, but he was at home on the NITRO. He really liked it, and felt it was easier for him to “jump on” – than my KVX.
To sum it up, I really like Xscream hulls and stuff – and thought my 2019 hull should be XS.
After seeing Djr NITRO pics and seeing it IRL and trying it, my 2019 hull will be a NITRO.
The details Dan put in these, from all, layup, logging, infusion to be 100% that parts have 100% vacuum before adding resin, being able to suit the hull to your wish/needs are just impressive. There is not any part on the hull, that they haven’t thought about more than 2 or 3 times lol.
Dan and his family is genuinely nice, friendly and helpsome – I will not think twice about recommending or dealing with them.
You will not be disappointed with the quality of the hull, the ride of the hull or the service at Djr Ltd.

Nice write-up, thanks for taking the time to inform us about this new hull.

Did you talk with Dan about order fulfillment? Curious if they estimated any timetable for being able to ship a completed hull from date of order?

Yeah, i hope Dan can chime in here. I would hate to post something that ended up being wrong.
But if anyone has any questions or are interested in the hull, i wouldn't hesitate to write him an email, he is really a nice. He listens to you and really want you to be happy and feel comfortable. Not your typical salesman.

Fantastic write up Christian, I totally agree with your comments and cannot wait for mine in the New Year

Thanks Keith!
Yeah I cant wait either :)

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
The first batch of hulls we are aiming to ship out in January. Our most recent orders I am hoping will be shipped out in February. We are flat out on production now and taking more orders. Anyone wanting to get a hull well in time for next season, please get in touch ASAP to avoid disappointment:)
The process for each part is time consuming. Everyone who has ordered will be kept in the loop with how our production is going so if there are any set backs or delays, you’ll be the first to know. Our no.1 priority is getting the parts exactly how we want them :)
