no fuel filter

Hello I am new to working on jet ski's and I am having some carb trouble with my super jet. I just realized theres no fuel filter is that a problem?
A lot of people run them in line in the fuel hose . I'm a Kawasaki guy myself but if I remember correctly I believe on a yam there's only one send and return just need to tap one into the send hose . (Tank -to carb) I'm sure someone will tap in and let u know . Is it a dual carb or single ? One send one return ?
I would def run my system regardless with a fuel filter vs not having one but that's just me

Sj's have a factory filter on the right side of the hull. There's a little bracket for it. I have never had a problem with them clogging but it is definitely a good idea to have it there.

Since there is no fuel filter and your having problems, take your carb/carbs off and clean out the little black basket filter in each carb. They may be clogged and not letting the fuel flow properly.
