No I haven't fallen of the face of the planet

Haven't been posting much lately so I just thought I'd say hi.

I finally bought another street bike so between it and jetskiing I haven't been on the net near as much. I'll have plenty of time for the computer in the fall/winter.

Did I mention I bought a bike.

I can't believe how fast the 600's are now:bigeyes: I haven't had a bike in about 14 years now and between the power and the much better tires these things are wild. Of course I'm way to big for the bike but what else is new.

Smitty and I did a track day at Mosport raceway a week ago Monday. That is some serious fun. Buy the end of the day I was dragging my knee thru several different turns and hitting 250km/h down the straight and maybe 200 km/h in the one corner after the straight :scared: These speeds are aprox since you tape over your speedo on the track. Yes Smitty rides his bike as well as his superjet. Going to another track day on Monday to see if I can burn off some more knee pucks.

See ya at Freestylefest.

Sweet bike. Although I was expecting to see an old bike needing a paint job with duct tape on it  to match your ski :frown: .

Be safe. Water leaves a bruise (sp) pavement doesnt leave much :frown: .

Nice YZF. I had an FZR 400 race bike the I put a FZR600 motor in. The thing flew. The 400 frame was 50lbs lighter than the 600 frame.

Awesome bike! I know for me at 6'2", the R6 was not a comfortable bike. I believe you're taller than me, so I'm curious how you feel on it. I was wayy cramped on it. I prefer the Hondas as they have somewhat of a better seating position. The R6 did have great power, was very nimble requiring not much more than a flick of the wrist to lean it over, and the thing stopped really well too. EBC has some nice pads which were an upgrade over stock. It also responds well to stainless brake lines.

Nothing beats dragging a knee though:woot:

Looks oddly like my old bike that I sold (1999 R6)....

I had a CBR600F3 a couple years ago, and traded up to a CBR1000RR. I should've got another 600. They are more than fast enough for street riding, and track days. Just another expensive hobby :banghead:

DUDE, youre not kidding! one of my mx/jetski buddies also does the track thing on his gixxer1k and his cbr1k .... he broke down the costs for me of a typical weekend once..

tires alone for sat/sun was over $300.....

Plus entrance fees, club fees, rental fees if you don't own a full suit, food, gas, hotel if you spend the night, etc. You also have to drain you radiator of antifreeze and replace with water. The tracks usually recommend that you trailer your bike in case you crash. This way you have a means to get home. That equates to more gas for your trailering vehicle. It turns into a super expensive weekend.

Damnit. I wanna get a dirtbike.

If you've never ridden, start small and work your way up. Maybe a 125cc bike first or even a 4 stroke sub 200cc bike. These things will also get you into a boat load of trouble really quick. Just riding in a straight line can be tough for beginners when they get in the mud, dirt, or stones. It's quite the weird feeling have a bike moving around beneath you. The best thing I can equate it to is riding your bmx bike as a kid in the snow.

I've ridden bikes off and on for 12 years. Most recently, I had an older CBR600.

Not quite like a dirtbike, I know.
