you definitely have to be careful with the shorter hulls with the boner airs if youre not sure how shallow the water is. one hit on the bottom and you will blow the nozzle out. i made the mistake of letting someone ride my freak in the surf last year and he darted my nozzle right in the sand. i have an aluminum turn nozzle and it bent the crap out of it trim ring, and broke the bolts out of the reduction nozzle. i ended up replacing all three as a result. i was able to weld the reduction nozzle back up but it was kinda janky afterwards so i replaced it. he is a decent rider but rides a superjet and isnt aware of the shorter skis and some of the quirks that come with it haha.
