I saw this thread and confirmed with RRP US distributor that they are recalling the carbon bars after a few failures. No info on where on the bars broke and if overtorquing on install was a factor or not. Bars can be returned in the US, broken or not.
XS bars are bent and/or broken more than any others in our experience, maybe XS bar riders are more extreme? One of the reasons fat bars were introduced is to make the area where bars are most likely to fail stronger. We have not seen any customers with fatbar failures.
Super aggro surf rider @Gliderskier bent several RRP fat riser bars, and switched to Aura fat risers which are working better for him. We compared them and they are thicker walled so we started stocking them as another option also, but I think the RRP fatbars are fine for most riders.
