SX/SXi/SXi Pro No spark

Took the ski out today and it was running great, Ran about 15 gallons through it 50/50 mix of 93 and 110 since I put in the timing advance plate. I came in to fix a loose steering cable and add a little restriction to the pisser so the flow control valve would work properly. After fixing those minor things and looking it over I went to ride and it only ran for about 5 minutes then lost spark all at once (like the lanyard pulled out) I checked over the switch and wires to the ebox and they were fine. I found the fuse was cracked and nasty looking so I replaced that. It fired right up and ran great. It sat for a few hours before I put it back in the water then the same thing happen, Ran great for five minutes then stopped and lost spark. I had very limited tools and time so I just called it a day. Knowing that the switch and wires are good as well as the fuse, what s the most logical guess? CDI? I'll pull it apart tomorrow and have a look with a volt meter, Just thought I'd ask here to get some good ideas.

Did you notice a big difference with the timing kit?
Im About to do a R & d one while my stator is out getting restored.

I noticed a little better bottom end snap, not a HUGE change but worth the 40 bucks I spent on it. I run 50/50 93 and 110 to be safe and still dont hold it pegged for long.

No. I'm running the stocker. The 98-02 and 03 sxr have the same ignition with a little more advance than the earlier models. I didnt want to trade reliability for a little brap

What is the compression? You may be hurting your performance with 110. My compression is 185 and I run 93 octane with not issues.

Im around 180-185 as well. I ran the 110 mix for the the first 10 gallons of fuel but have since ran about 20 gallons of 93 with no problems (at least not related to fuel). Mark, your skis have been parked so long they are probably running on more like 50oct. lol. If you get out this weekend let me know, Ill try to make it.

No, I almost pulled the trigger on a advent T3 but after reading all the horror stories about msd's I decided I'd leave it stock. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of people run them without issues. It just seems like there is a ton more people having msd's crap out compared to stock ones. Advent is supposed to be a good one but their pricey. My ski has enough power for my skill level, its just too heavy lol
