Went for some couch Vwake action today, I consistently nosed them in about 630 (on the clock). Ill post up some video when we feel like going inside from the beautiful weather to edit it.

When you are up in the air, yank that pole towards your chest so bad it hurts. You'll pull them around.

I've been asking this question to the first time flippers (lol), how many attempts did it take you to finally nose one in? Any 'ah ha!' moments along the way.

I'm going to be starting my own foray into flippy land soon and I like to have an idea what to expect.

Expect the ski to land on you a few time haha.

It took me a good 8-10 try's before I nosed a good one in. Took me a little bit to get my technique down and first I was just yanking and not using my legs as much. The first time I lowered my ass into the tray and used my legs off the face it came around on me.

*EDIT* this was in lake mi surf about 4 foot waves. Rickter fs1 with stock pump and 781.

It's certainly a lot easier with big power.
I tried LOTS of times with my 754 motor in my Freak. Closest I came off my own wake after a full season was straight nosed in a few times. A more capable rider did bring them around a few times.
I did succeed fairly early off boat wakes.

With a 1000 motor and a bigger pump, it took maybe all of three tries.

I nosed one in the second try on my freak in decent surf. Took a while on boat wake, still need a pretty big boat and go rite off the back. Flatwater seems pointless to even try with a 701. I swapped in a buddy's xs 827 and it didn't make it any easier on flatwater. I need more power!

Thanks for the positive comments guys!

I probably have done a dozen or so set up wake attempts and never really make it passed 3oclock, back floppers! The boat wake I probably did about 8 attempts total, with the 3rd one being the nose in flip and the best. I did about a dozen 6:30ers on the couch Vwake yesterday.

None of them have really hurt. I have only had 2 times where one hand slipped off the bars but still stayed with it and all was fine. All I can say is the 6:30s really put some pressure on the top of the feet as you go forward and the ski doesn't when you hit the water.

Gonna bump this up. I am still not quite making em around, I know getting some video will help. In the meantime, I have really been pulling and looking back but I cant seem to get my legs straight.

I am told I am getting plenty of height just not the rotation. Should I be going slower and doing a pre hop into the wake?

heres a photo from sunday, sorry for low res

Nosed in my first flip!

Slower helps for sure. The biggest thing like Matt said that helps you get around was yanking on the bars. Pull them as HARD as you can. Like stupid hard. I can over rotate flips on my 760 just from pulling too hard (on flat with no wake). I had to start toning it back but I still pull more than anything else.

so you can cruise on flat water... preload it and flip with a 760? no wake? what hull is this and what do you weigh?

Thanks for the advice! I have really been working on pulling, the last few I pulled so hard I had the panic rev in the air lol. Ill make sure I really focus on pulling this weekend.

Heres the video from the boat wake flip that I might of rode out had I not hit the bottom. Missed the shot but thought I would post anyway. You can tell by the excitement that it was a good one.
