Freestyle Nosing in back flips off a power slide

I started trying backflips today but not off a setup or boat wake. I'm doing a power slide, unhooking the pump in the slide, sink the pump, grab both levers and go for it. I nosed a few in, and flopped a few. Anyone have some good advice on doing these? I'm not sure I have the body mechanics down right?

I like to do a flat spin 180(out of the water) the grab a hand full of levers. It seems to do a little better for me. I know it feels I make it further around when I start to yank on the bars when I stop moving backwards. You'll find a sweet spot Md know what I'm talking about. Throw that head back

In the backflip department yea I'm blind. Can you offer any wisdom mr buzzard? A guy with one of every ski and big money motors if hope you can do this trick and help out?

sorry bro, i have no wisdom to give on this topic and i meant YOU no offence. just making a wise crack when ever the opp arrives. i dont really like the slide to flip and as i've said before, i'm still not on top of the heap equipment wise. when i get the XS1200 and some minus 33" hull, i wont have any excuses. this is the blind not trying to lead the blind :)=

I can confirm that the buzzard does not slide.

I have some success with the slide to backflip. I've only got close to riding out a few times. I do way better when I stick my ass out like I'm sitting on a toilet taking a :):):):), then grab both levers. Pull back, head back, standup. I hit the gas either when I stop moving backwards or when I'm only moving backwards a tad. I haven't got this trick down yet, but also haven't spent much time on it. Working on flat spins.

A decent video showing form.

I'm getting them round now (glass XFS/XS1000/PFP/Mag144) - what helped me most was really reefing the bars in hard to your chest half way round to speed up the rotation - not to early and not too late. Do some pull ups to build your upper strength, you really need to muscle it round compared to the wake flip.

Good luck

Jim

I too just went for the powerslide flip, this is my 3rd time out trying it, ( I know I need some more power but was surprised at how far I did actually get around almost rode out a few) Fiberglass Footrocket, with stock 701 B-Pipe and solas 144 mag (and yes I realize the quality is very bad, some guy I met at the boat ramp took it off his phone)

your a decent rider tho.... almost got around

our skis are basically identical besides the sponsons...n your trim actually works

Im 6 foot 155 pounds so im man handling mine around as best i can. I keep nearly drownding myself n come up chocking on a gallon of water ha..

as for the power slide, it didnt seem to work well for me either. doesnt seem to give enough leverage....

Tried these last weekend since we had no surf. Only got about 1/2 way around......need to practice. Also, I don't have trim so that makes it a little more challenging, but it was fun trying anyway!

If I had a dime for every pixel in that video, I could buy a small off-brand soda.
