Novi and Full specs

I have a set of 48 Novi Max flow carbs. I really like them but have heard some good stuff about the Full Specs also. Anyone here with 48/49 Full specs that might have some input?
Thanks

Full specs seem to hit harder off of the bottom...........not much cruising with FS.........just hold on. Great for tricks and a hard hit, but not as linear as the Novis (I own both).

The new Novi-Tec booster is supposed to be better, but I have no experience with that one.

Most freeriders prefer Full Specs because of the hard, clean hit off the bottom:bananajump:

Both are excellent carbs.............dont know that I would trade/sell one for the other unless it was virtually cost free.

I moved up from regular Mikuni 46 carbs to a set of Full Spec 48s and they definitely hit much harder. I am also running the Boyesen mani and the RAD 131a reed blocks. This is what Ed Brazina said that you will get the most from these carbs with this package. So far he has made a believer out of me. There are a couple of other guys that ride with us that have Novi 48s and BlackJack 46s on similar engines. Both boats hit very hard and run clean, I think that any of the three will make improvements if you take the time to tune them to what your engine wants. Start with the recommended baseline jetting and tweak to make it the best. Persistance and patience pay off when it comes to carb tuning IMO.

I am a witness to what Full Specs did for the doggs SJ !!! Night and day difference. I must say tho-he also had Tricky in his back pocket for the initial tune. I am not discounting Dogg's ability, but Tricky knows about as much about the Full Specs as Ed in my opinion which really aint worth chit.

BTW-I run FULL SPEC 48's on a Dominator manifold a/v force reeds and like the setup pretty dam good. Someday I am gonna try Crammit's Blackjacks on my ski cuz we run the same manifold to see if there is a difference.

I find this hard to believe, but to each his own. All setups are different and have different needs.

Are you talking about the recent NOVIS with the new venturi or the old style? ( I compared my FS to the old Novis with very different results than you)

Thats fine each to there own

I had f boosters on there and went to a set of full rectums i brought of joe kenny when he was over here
This was on advice from some on who posts on here told me they got much better power on there dyno with them

I was setting them up on my type 9 race superjet
I spent ages tryign to get thme right i found the difference between 1 psi pop off to rich or to lean
i rung ed and tried his settings no dice
i then brought another set of novis and went racing again

i now have a set of the latest on my new ski and i have found them better again
I guess this is why 8 mths ago there was a flea market sale on full rectums on ebay when the new novis became avaliable
