First off I really need to thank a few people because a couple weeks ago I had my commercial boat trailer fall on my foot and fracture it in 12 places and 4 broken toes, had a procedure that pretty much glued my foot back together with 87 needles.....anyway these guys were a huge key in my build being completed....SPECIALFX (for all my questions and his knowledge and skill) FLASHFX ( for his body work and constant pushing to get it done) WAVEHOG (final assembly and turfing...being a good friend) NUKLEAR6 (Building an awesome motor and rushing parts to me) TJSCOOL914( chinpad assembly).......Also Dan from WaveJunhkies for hooking me up with a carb,
Now for the Build.....
Starts off with an FX1 hull purchased last Daytona Freeride from CarterB and really had no idea how to get it back to NJ from Florida....After a hike it arrived and sat in my garage all summer while i rode my SJ. I own my own business so at the end of summer it was really hard to get the build going being a Mobile Marine Mechanic and my busy season getting under way. So about 5 weeks ago I cut the tray completely out and began the build.
Pump:
Standard FX! 650 Kawasaki pump swap with SpecialFX bearing conversion, Setback SXR prop and X2 exit/turn nozzle with custom fixed trim
Hull:
Stock FX1 Hull with cut tray completely out, fully carbon reinforcing, custom one way drain, dual cooling, shaved front fuel fill, and one set of monster custom tubbies (we have a mold now if you like them)...20in wide tray with custom insade holds and channeling and front foothold
Hood:
Stock hood but removed center fire extinguisher area and smoothed her out...saved 1.2lbs
Motor:
Bored 61x cases, 762 NUKLEAR Motor with heavy porting, FX B-pipe, ADA head, 46mm Carb, and an EPIC ignition (62T Electronics)
Paint:
Cinnamon Pearl Corvette GM and a flat black bottome (Painted by my good friend Jason...awesom job bro)
Extras:
Superjet RN steering cable with custom SPECIALFX quick turn plate, Homemade carbon chinpad, stock FX rideplate
It came down to the final hours before leaving NJ on the 8th and the ski was finally completely assembled and running......I want to thank all the guys that had a hand in this build very much.
Also want to thank my supporters JeTek of Brigantine, DK1 Designs, Optima Racing, and CPT.
January 9, 2012 Daytona Beach Florida...Ski ran absolutely like a raped ape, hull handles beyond any of my wildest dreams, carves amazing, and just plain rips.
I did have a spark issue but will be corrected tomorrow and be back on the water
Hope to see you all during the FREERIDE...........pics to follow
