I think it's easier on the fixed steer. No momentum lost to pole movement. My flips are faster for sure.
Last year did a nose in flip off a 3 foot wave on a 735 RN with trim by hitting white water just as the wave broke. I think you will have a difficult time without trim on 3 foot size waves...suggest you go back to stock flame arrestors too. That is what I was afraid of. How about off a boat wake or 3 footers on the Great Lakes. Is it possible with a 701 and a superjet hull that's not shortened
The number of people in the USA right now who can successfully pull off a clean flatwater backflip is 57.
Can't believe you didn't just use the backflip registery which can be found here

That was awesome the day you pulled that off, mate! I was stoked to give you $20.00 for winning the backflip bet!
Rodney, just for clarification...does one have to pull out of a trick "clean" before one claims that they've "done a XXXX"?
Looks like you've made some progress.

I agree. The flip is easy with these short hulls and a lot of power. Most these guys doing flips I want to see learn to roll.
Theres no denying that flips are fun but it doesn't compare to a good session of actually riding and slashing waves and re-entries. Nailing a killer re-entry and landing back in the face is a killer feeling especially with speed. Flips in FL surf is funwhen conditions are good because it's normally too shallow to consider the risk IMO
So, Rodney, I meant to ask you...how many people that were in on that "backflip bet", actually paid up?
