Is 9000 the max ?? Is this CDi comparable to the Pro Tec blue ones they had at one point, I see you are utilizing the same little dial....

If you need to go over 9000 RPM, I'd just remove the limiter all together by jumping out the resistor rather than adding the trim pot.

The trim pot and adjustability is similar to the Protec but they are rumored to have a different timing curve. I have one here but haven't mapped it out yet to see if it actually differs.

Hi Boyer,
You did my waveblaster 1100 wires over the winter, awesome job. Will you be abel to mod my Yamaha 1100 CDI to up the rev limiter?

I haven't done the research on anything other than the 6M6, 61X and 62T CDI's at this point. I have a 64X here that i plan to dissect soon but all others will require some donor parts to do some experimentation on. These aren't as common and not something I have laying around.

Another satisfied customer with a 61X CDI mod. Sent OCD a few old CDIs, asked him to test them and if any were good, mod em and send em back. Can't believe how fast he got them back to me! Of course the raised limit is so very nice on my old square nose!
