Octane 100 horsepower ?

Octane 100 horsepower with or without a B pipe ? So if a Octane puts out 100 horsepower with a b pipe. Could we say the engine is really putting out 80 or 90 horsepower and the Bpipe is putting out 10 or 20 horsepower to get the 100 horsepower for the Octane ? Our is the Octane engine putting out 100 horse power and the Bpipe is adding another 10 to 20 horsepower to the Octane ? They say a 760 cc on the yamaha 701 puts out 90 horsepower. I would assume the 777cc is a 100 horsepower plus the added horsepower from the Bpipe ? Anybody know the answer to this question ? How much added power does a Bpipe add to a engines horsepower ?

Nope I believe the stock motor is 80hp and the pipe adds the extra 20. Making a total of 100 HP.

All of our engines will achieve high hp numbers with open exhaust and high rpm. A pipe will boost max torque and place it wherever you want.

Did the octane engine ever come in anything else? This isn’t a thread comparing the 777 engine with the only exhaust it ever came with to the 777 with some lower performing exhaust that doesn’t exist right?

Not as far as I know it didn't.. no it's a question of does it have 100 horsepower with the pipe or does the pipe give it more than 100 HP.

"B" pipes run around 7000rpm so 100hp would be a lot for a wet pipe. A dry pipe, especially one turning more rpm would easily make 100hp. A stock Superjet style exhaust would cap operating rpm under 7000 and HP under 80.

Octane had 100hp as it comes new with the b pipe and dual keihin 40s. Polaris motors actually create good power. They do come with low compression. My superstock, koes old race boat ,with cris Bush's package has 142hp. A stock octane with a few mods gets well over 100. All the other polaris twins are 700cc. The crank stroke and bore are different. The octane motor is a 2 cyl version of their 1200 motor.

Polaris used the B-Pipe only because their Runabout Pipes were too large to fit. Most likely it would have made more power if it ran their exhaust. It was more cost effective to run the BPipe.
