Octane Octane mod questions

Couple questions about my 2002.
First, I have the composite ride plate. It's been suggested I D-cut it. How deep should I cut? The plate extends about 2 inches past the transom. Should I start the cut from there, or cut it flush with the transom then cut the D?
Second, I've heard about cutting the rear bond line on either side like the factory did in 03 and 04. What does that do and how much gets cut out?
Finally, any one have records on the better jetting for factory carbs? I'm all stock with chokes removed and V-force 2s...

its a must do. helps to lift the nose alittle.but sticks the ass better. your going for a surf octane not a cc boat? it helps both setups. i havent done a d-cut on an octane yet but i am sure it will help get the nose up. i am doing the same thing going from a cc boat to a freeride boat with a 2003 octane. your going to need glass over the motor mount plates in the hull. the stock ones will rip out in no time. re foam the tray. one way valve. and some more stuff i am forgeting right now.
