Odyssey Batteries Backordered until Jan 2009

My odyessy batteries are going on 6 or 7 yrs old. I hate messing with my jetworks as far as terminal connections go

I think Odyssey is moving manufacturing back to the US - resulting in the back order. I haven't confirmed 100%, but I know one of the big battery manufacturing plants is being relocated to Ohio

I refuse to ever buy from that company again based on two failures(one was a free replacement). Only jetworks, yuasa, or magna power(deka relabled) for me now.

Jetworks baby all the way cheaper than odyessy and much better quality and no problems with warranty should it happen to break within the warranty period.I do have an odyessy question though,are they going to honor the warranty on all these dead batteries I have and could not get replaced because of the backorder status?

It remains to be seen if WPS will warranty my batteries ,at present they cannot because they have no batteries to replace them with duh huh.When they get some to replace them with I plan to hit them up,obviously that will be sometime after January of next year.If I do get them warrantied you will have to eat your words.Considering the amount of business I do with WPS on an annual basis they will probably warranty these with no questions asked ,especially considering the current situation.Would you like to place a small wager on that Matt? I will be sure to submit a copy of the bill of lading and pics as proof if it happens.:bigok:

Ummm MATT I think you better go back and read some there,as I know I have stated clearly in other posts that I buy my Odyessy's from WPS and WPS is who has to warranty my batteries not Odyessy.You see it works like this WPS is their customer,they buy an assload of batteries per year,so they will warranty batteries that WPS returns to them without a fuss,I on the other hand am WPS's customer and they will take care of me as well. Reading is fundamental MATT.:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I will bet you a box of NGK BR8ES11'S that they will warranty my batteries,the only way they would not warranty them that I can forsee is if they stopped carrying them,so far they have gave me no indication that is the case.

But wait....I have no interest in betting against WPS NOT warrantying your batteries (if it's WPS/whoever your dealer is what we're talking about here)

Remember: I have always said that you will have to take up warranty issues with your dealer.
Odyssey themselves does not warranty their batteries (to the customer). Nor do they strictly require their dealers to, apparently.
I have no doubt that you'll fare well with WPS if you're a regular customer.
I have never claimed anything to the contrary.

Now, if we were betting that Odyssey themselves would warranty your stuff....then I'd be interested (but you wouldn't be, and rightly so)

Perhaps my first post in this thread gave you the impression that I was talking about WPS, but that was not the case.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program. Yes, Odyssey batteries suck, they can be hard to get replaced, and you shouldn't spend your money on those POS's.

You should start a support group for all of those who have had Odyessy batteries go bad Matt,maybe you can call it something like BOBS maybe even SOBS or even OBS maybe just shorten it to BS,yeah that sounds good,nice ring to it.

I have had my jetworks for 1.5 years, still works great. don't like the connections either, but I am getting used to them.
