Have a link to that battery? Jetworks says on their site there are batteries that look the same, but aren't internally and they aren't 18ah batteries, they are like 22ah. I can't remember exactly though. My experience with them sucked too. I bought a new one, used if for half a season on a OEM elec system SJ. I never abused it, or it never got overcharged. I basically babied it!
Over winter it was trickle charged once in awhile and kept inside. Spring came and it said full charge, but had no cranking power. There are lots of thread about the POS Odyesey.
If I were you, I would charge it then put a load tester on it. For some reason they just die.
I use Power source batteries and get 5-6 years out of them. Power Source batteries are the same as the Jetworks battery. In fact Jetwork just puts there name on them, like Lynn Vick and some other motor sports suppliers do. Good battery and the only one I would reccomend.
And quite a bit cheaper.
And quite a bit cheaper.
all 5 of mine were $72 each, bought locally to me.
you are telling me a jetworks battery is cheaper than that?
regardless.
from now on, im buying the CHEAPEST smallest battery I can fit in my skis...
IF I ever have to buy batteries again.
:bigok:
No worries on the lake right :smoker: and it's not if but when you have to buy new batteries
For you maybe because you live down the road ,it costs quite a bit to ship a Jetworks clear across the country .That's why I bought 2 and the tender plus .

Using current pricing, the Jetworks should be cheaper than the $130ish Odyssey wants.
(Disclaimer: I have not checked Jetworks pricing in a while. Maybe it went up)
It's only fair to compare NEW prices, available now.
The Odysseys I bought were about 70 bucks as well, and back then the Jetworks was more expensive. Not so today (I think)
Art, how much did you pay for both shipped?
That's what I paid for mine, shipped.
I think you may have been screwed considering mine came over 3000 miles
On ebay enter pc 625 in search, you'll see $100 for Odysseys shipped. I have 4, some are 5 years old, no regrets! I have not however bought any in the last 2 years - don't know if there are recent quality issues.
Good luck getting any kind of warranty service if you need it.
That was the nail in the coffin on Odyssey batteries for me. They brag about the two year warranty and then wouldn't honor it after six months.:lightning:
