My experience with them sucked too. I bought a new one, used if for half a season on a OEM elec system SJ. I never abused it, or it never got overcharged. I basically babied it!

Over winter it was trickle charged once in awhile and kept inside. Spring came and it said full charge, but had no cranking power. There are lots of thread about the POS Odyesey.

If I were you, I would charge it then put a load tester on it. For some reason they just die.

I use Power source batteries and get 5-6 years out of them. Power Source batteries are the same as the Jetworks battery. In fact Jetwork just puts there name on them, like Lynn Vick and some other motor sports suppliers do. Good battery and the only one I would reccomend.
Have a link to that battery? Jetworks says on their site there are batteries that look the same, but aren't internally and they aren't 18ah batteries, they are like 22ah. I can't remember exactly though.

yes and no.

I experimented and ran the cheapy smaller lawn tractor battery in my sons ski last year.

worked FINE, unless you sank and drowned it.

when that happened, I had to swap one of the odyssey batteries into it to pump the water out, and get it running again.

so yeah the small batteries suck for that, but to me its easier to have two smaller cheaper batteries, and use one as a backup, than one heavy expensive battery, and have ZERO backup plan.

basically im saying, It sucks to ONLY have one battery available to you when you go to ride.

but then again, ive never had a single problem with my odyssey batteries, so its not an issue to me really.

No worries on the lake right :smoker: and it's not if but when you have to buy new batteries

For you maybe because you live down the road ,it costs quite a bit to ship a Jetworks clear across the country .That's why I bought 2 and the tender plus .

all 5 of mine were $72 each, bought locally to me.

you are telling me a jetworks battery is cheaper than that?

Using current pricing, the Jetworks should be cheaper than the $130ish Odyssey wants.
(Disclaimer: I have not checked Jetworks pricing in a while. Maybe it went up)

It's only fair to compare NEW prices, available now.
The Odysseys I bought were about 70 bucks as well, and back then the Jetworks was more expensive. Not so today (I think)

Art, how much did you pay for both shipped?

Around $100 each

i just bought an odyssey PC 625 last week. they com fully charged - put it in the ski and rode - no problem.

you guys living in the us dont know how lucky you are!!! You only have to spend around 100$ for a new odyssey PC 625 or a jetworks battery? i bought mine in netherland and paid 135€!!! (without shipping!!!) - and you cant find it cheaper anywhere.

i hope it will last a while. i will take care of the nuts and will not overtighten them - thanks for the tip, this forum is always so helpfull

On ebay enter pc 625 in search, you'll see $100 for Odysseys shipped. I have 4, some are 5 years old, no regrets! I have not however bought any in the last 2 years - don't know if there are recent quality issues.

Dam, after reading all the posts about you guys getting odysseys for under hundy, I pulled out my old invoice because I remember paying alot.:banghead: Invoice date was 6/8/06 and I paid $124.26 picked up. I got it from mr Dyno aka jr magoos :rocketwhore: That was the 1st nail in the coffin with me doing business with him. Every deal from that point on just got worse & worse.:bs2:
Atleast the battery still works:bananajump:

I think you may have been screwed considering mine came over 3000 miles

Now that you mention it....I do remember Art telling me that the shipping charge is pretty much flat no matter where it gets shipped (within the continental US)

Good luck getting any kind of warranty service if you need it.

That was the nail in the coffin on Odyssey batteries for me. They brag about the two year warranty and then wouldn't honor it after six months.:lightning:

I never had a problem getting them warrantied till now,now I can't even get one much less warranty one,let them get them bitchees in I got a stack of warranty cores piling up.:twak:
