I had posted on page 1, post #9, that I had not gotten good service life out of the O. pc625. So I bought two Deka ETX16. These seem to self discharge faster than what I would expect from a sealed, non flooded battery.
Meanwhile, my last Odyssey pc625, purchased about 2 years ago, is working really well, and I think I figured out what had happened. It seems for a few years, I had been sourcing these batts off the internet and received them after they'd been on someones shelf for a couple of years (date codes really used to suck) , had a good time to sulfate- or whatever batteries do when they get bored- and then were "cooked" prior to delivery to me.
The last batt. I bought was only 2 months old according to the date code and is "perfect" to this date. I will purchase them from Amazon again - and should I not like the date code, take advantage of their liberal return policy.
