Custom/Hybrid Oem 155 pump question

The stock water inlet is smack in the middle where my steering cable wants to go.

Do I A) pull the guide pins out, flip it over and re- install or B) leave as is and grind down the water inlet so the steering gets by.

I believe most flip the pump, I’m no expert though.

I cut the port right off and welded it shut. Then tapped the other side of the pump...I was in the same boat

I considered both methods.. Didn't want the potential resell hassle with cutting off the bung and welding it over so pulled the dowels and flipped it..

Wheat harvest takes precedence over jet skis unfortunately.

I personally cut it off, weld it shut and weld a bunge in the correct place.
