Custom/Hybrid OEM front cover gasket - who knew?

Had to fill a cart for free shipping so bought an OEM Yamaha front cover gasket as a spare. Noticed it had a sealer on both sides - I never knew this. Sure pricier than A/M felt gaskets, but no 1211 scraping.

I’ve never used any sealant. Just some waterproof grease on both sides of the gasket. Never have had any water intrusion.

I’m a fan of the OEM front cover because it’s the smallest and lightest available, and this ‘discovery’ with the OEM gasket takes my only pain point away.
