I have to put a couple of bilge pumps in my wife's square so she doesn't sink in Texas. The thing is, I'm not about to put a scupper in, so I want to retain the stock siphon. Does anyone have any good tips on how to relocate the siphon pick-up so that I can put the pumps under the drive shaft?

brraap....thats so 2002
if you just put in one on the left you can retain the stock stuff, but if you put two in you got to remove it, and i would think that wouldnt be a problem.
or you could put the bilges in the back corners, the only draw back being the amout of water left in the bottom after the bilges empty.

maybe one larger pump? like a 1100 gph?

a single 500 gph has emptied mine pretty well, but I dont ride in the surf either.

I run a single 1100. Jetworks carries the billet 1 1/8" thru hull fittings for them. It moves the water out FAST! It's about an inch taller than the 500 rule. Same diameter pump body. Draws just under 4 amps I believe.

Hmmm... the only trouble is I already went to Wally World for the Attwoods. I'm thinking that I might be able to mount the siphon either under the coupler or higher up in the back corner of the engine compartment. I'd dump it altogether except it's so silly to sink because of a blown fuse....

cool info cramminit...

what does that pump cost?

im going to PM you some carbon questions as well....

:hail:

$30.00 give or take. I think a 500 is 20ish so it's a bit more, but not much.

the 500s at wally world are $10 each.

take them back SJbrit, wally world is pretty easy about that.

they used to sell some larger ones at wallys world as well.

ive got 2 500s under my coupler, with no factory siphon, they clearthe hull FAST. but id like to have the factory siphon as well. these pumps are rarely needed, yet they stay on all the time.

Keep the fuse though cause it's even more silly to burn your boat because of a lack of a fuse.
The stock siphon only works when you are moving so I wouldnt think it would save you if you were sinking anyways :headbang:

True - I just like to have 2 ways to get water out: call me paranoid!

Anyway, I decided to try sticking the siphon down in front of the pumps using 5200. Not sure if it'll work, but it's worth a shot....

If I am not mistaken, The dual bilge pump bracket that Blowsion makes has a tab in front for relocating the stock siphon. I thought that was a good idea for a clean install.....but it is also a good idea to clean out your wallet, those thing are like $90 bucks, 5200 sounds more economical.

Sand both real good with 60 grit and it will work .make sure you let it dry for like a week though :headbang:

I just ordered the 1 1/2" Pisser. Those guys seem really cool. Thanks for the tip. I'll post some pics of the kit before and after install if anyone wants to see it.

Will the coupler grinding be self explanitory. Just cut away a little half circle?

Is the 1100 a Rule with a 1 1/2" out I hope?

Nevermind...just called Jetworks (once again very cool)...It's a 1 1/8" fitting and the rule 1100 is 1 1/8 out. They only have them in silver and thay are 14.99 if anyone is interested.

Thank man. I almost can't wait to do a fountain:frown:
