I missed what actually happened, so I don't want to give any bad info. All I know is he busted up his nose pretty good from what I could see, EMS strapped him to a backboard, and he went to a hospital to get checked out. I snapped the shots above of him before the injury. He was alert and talking, so it seemed to be a precaution to transport him.

I overheard some bits from pancake tonight who went to the hospital, he's in good spirits, going to be stitched up today then surgery tomorrow to rebuild some facial bones, etc. They flew in a plastic surgery team already for this.

Here's a couple more of my pics.

I am an ex-EMT and everyone who has even a slim possibility of a spine injury (i.e. wiping out after trying a double back flip in 2 feet of water) gets strapped to a back board. Hope he is doing well.

Just got back home to Clearwater... Sherri and I stopped to see John at the hospital on our way home. Johnny is alert, talkative and in good spirits. I'm very happy to see that. Most likely John will need extensive care for the time being. Please keep him in your prayers!
Pancake, and all of the X Scream crew also went to hospital to visit.

Here's probably the best shot I got this weekend, but since it was a little foggy and overcast, the shot is grainy. Taylor Curtis right after the zone opened on Sunday.

How do you fix a ripped off nose in Daytona? Elmer's glue, I mean Elmer's fiberglass. This is madmat's ski. I added the Elmer's logo, though I think it came off once he hit the water again.
