I always find the responses on these SBT threads quite funny, I will say this it is very easy to take up for SBT when you have have good results with their engines, the same is true in reverse , it is very hard for me to take up for them with the ordeals I have been through with their engines. To be fair there were other engine rebuilders I used back in the day and I havd zero issues with their engines, PMC , no issues, New York Crankshaft no issues, so it 's not like I am comparing apples to oranges here.
One more thing, the two biggest issue I had with SBT were the new Seadoo engine that sounded like trash as soon as I fired it up, they refused to send me another engine ND At the time I was an SBT dealer, that engine just made it out of warranty then puked , good for SBT not good for me and my customer, the other engine I had issues with was a Seadoo 4 tec engine that had a damaged valve cover gasket, during the test ride a lot of oil leaked out and the low oil light came on, I found the issue and replaced the faulty SBT valve cover gasket with an OEM part, instead of thanking me they wanted to violate my warranty so yeah I think they know what they can do with their engines now !
