650/X-2 oil leak - help!!

my buddy wanted to buy his first ski but didnt want to spring 800-1k for it. He found a running 650sx for 600 bucks. the ski sat overnight in his garage. When he came out this morning he saw that the whole inside hull was covered in oil that wasnt previously there. He says there is a puddle that is 3/16" deep. What are the first things he should check. he wants to bring his ski out with us tomorrow.

Tell him to do ditch the entire oil injection system and go to premix. He will need a block off plate and a vacuum cap or two.

Definitely shouldnt be riding it until you figure out where it's leaking from so you don't burn it up. A block off plate for the oil pump and also the crankcase drain are a good idea and cheap insurance to prevent air leaks which blow up motors as well. Run premix as suggested so you don't depend on 20+ year old oil injection.
