Ok to run hood with no vent tubes?

Yeah they also bring in air of course, it just helps to give the water a path away from the engine and e-box and into the bilge area. I used to run without the tubes and some of those frogskin intake screens there, just ended up letting more water get on the engine. A lot of people cut em off because it's easier to get the hood on/off.

On a/m hoods I like to have at least 4 air/water baffle tubes, one on each side of the carburetors and long enough to keep water out of flame arrestors, then two at the front
