Amazing, the worrying thing is I remember it all. If only the sport generated the money needed for this kind of R&D today. I remember visiting PJS when they were just setting up for production of the Laserjet.
Chris.
Chris, someones still angry because the story goes his used to blow up by the end of every long weekend .with a long list of other issues .but shoot what it did do is gave him lots of practice on the bench so now those same tear downs are a walk in the park ... (the bright side)
Yea you have to laugh ,prices are completive these days ,considering what you are getting and what goes into it .i had a friend who built a 24-7 boat in the early 90s and was 2ok +deep into it back then .for this what you got a state of the art 760 ,blue printed pump ,hull, paint, carbs ,upgraded stock electrics ,handle pole, and all the goodies .fast forward twenty years and that same 20k will buy a decent boat with all todays state of the art !in the RRP carbon pipe thread, everybody was sniveling about the prices of the newest state of the art top of the line parts and equipment. that westcoast/PJS reed cylinder was $1400 when they came out. thats basically the same as todays prices for the dasa and other trick cylinders on the market. the newest stuff in this game is always unobtanium for the guys at the bottom of the scrotum pole. i'm glad i was busy being a country bumpkin back when 440 550 was king and started when things really got interesting.

it always was and always will be a money game. if you cant afford it, you aint gonna get it, ever!
That's a false statement right there. True it is a money game but, if you work hard enough at it you can obtain the unobtainable.
