what was changed on the hull compared to the Gen2/3? What's the length/width comparison to a standard Gen 2/3 and stock RN SJ?

In basic, the 3Ride will be about 5" longer than a Gen3. Everything else is questionable at the moment as we're still changing it up. Details will come as we get closer to finishing up :)

Will that one be for sale at a discounted pre-production price or will it be used as a demo? Are you still modifying that hull to finalize your molds?

Question - I have seen most AM hulls widen the rails as they go towards the rear of the ski. Why do you choose to taper the rails inwards towards the rear of your hull?

The hull pictured above is a Gen3 for a client - 3Ride is still in testing stages. We are working on getting a solid design we're happy with before we mould it, so that the moulds stay true to our design.

We've found that it simply works best with the overall design of this particular model.

Since you are having problems finding the time to get this hull dialed in with the closest surf being 5 hours away from you I think it would be a great idea to bring your pre-production hull to a few freeride events as a demo hull. Have the hull setup with a stock stroke Ported 701 or big bore 771 so you know the focus will be on the hull rather than the engine. make sure to get feedback from all riders that demo the hull and make changes accordingly. I'd bring it to the Daytona Freeride and a west coast freeride event as well. Gather all your feedback and use it as a tool to modify this hull to come up with your final product. A lot of surf riders are very knowledgable and tuned into their hull and how it works. A flatwater guy can make up for a poor hull setup with more power while a surf rider can make up for a weak powerplant with a great hull setup (to an extent... I'm not looking for an argument from flatwater guys about that statement). You guys have your flatwater hulls pretty dialed in after having 3 generations of hulls and a lot of people say BOBs are unridable in surf... I'm not saying you arent knowledgable about hull design but you will likely sell more hulls by catering to the needs and wants of the riders and by having your hull demoed and tweaked after listening to feedback I think you will have more believers in this hull and it's capabilities

people who say bobs are unrideable in the surf basically cant ride. i think ive proved that.

I never said its unridable in surf. I'm just making that statement from the average opinion of most people. I never said it wasn't doable. This is just an example but if you say a BOB is a good hull for surf and 99 other people who ride surf say it's only good for flatwater then the Ski Clinic just sold 1 hull to 1 guy out of 100 people. I'm just saying it would be a great idea to get feedback and advice from the riders and cater to their needs since they will sell more hulls this way. Most people who buy BOBs buy them for flatwater am i wrong? I think this is a great thing the Ski Clinic is doing and they are tackling a whole other market which will be a great thing for the company and the riders.

It's a discussion about the new BOB Ride hull. Lil D has made it known that he is doing what he can to improve his product and customer satisfaction and forums are for discussion. So where was I off topic? Should I post it in his other thread to make you happy? Or would it be better if I copy everyone and say "wow that's glossy, nice job"

No where in the op does it say anything about the ride hull ... It's about the G3

Good for you. I'm pretty sure my posts have been more helpful to the ski clinic than yours. You are worried about whether it's threadjacking or not and I'm trying to give ideas for the development of their hull.
Here ya go: "hey lil D, that hull is the glossiest one Ive ever seen. There is nothing you can do to improve your products since they are already perfect. Because of this you will never sell anymore hulls than you already do right now and never be a better company since you're already perfect"
Happy?

We do appreciate all the feedback and suggestions - The Gen2/3 can be ridden in surf, but we want to offer something thats easier to ride in all conditions, something more recreational as opposed to freestyle. We know what needs to be done to it, just got to make it happen and drag it down south for some ocean fun! But please, feel free to message me any suggestions you may have for it, it's all greatly appreciated.

But back on track to the OP - this hull along with 2 others will be getting dropped into a couple of crates and be sent off to the New York area, the new owners should be seeing them early next week!
