You will be doing yourself a HUGE favor is you do a search online and get a zoeller (or zoeler) valve... They are MUCH higher quality than then flotec valve but are the same style valve.

How do you figure it is higher quality? Are you talking about one of these:

I assume all valves mentioned on this thread come with stainless hardware?

Where did you find the plumbing fixture? I've checked Ferguson, Home Depot, and Lowes. Plumbing, sewage, irrigate, and electrical. Can't find any kind of threaded flanged piece. The employees at these stores all think I am nuts

If you can't find a threaded one, use a short piece of pipe with a female adapter.

I do have the female adapter but I am not clear on how to secure this to the hull w/o a flange. I do not plan on cutting into the sidetray and defoaming so the hole will be much larger than the fitting. I was planning on running 1.5" pvc with sump one-way (~2.25"). Alternatively, I have the complete blowsion kit that I could shove a stopper in instead of using a threaded adapter...

what about using a sink or shower drain as the finished outside flange?

Id rather seal the back surface than have to glass and sand that much...
