Here's some shots of the first hull out of the mold. It was laid up using biax fiberglass and epoxy resin

Here's the custom ride plate I made to fit over the wider pump box area, and one of the motor that will be going into the first hull, its a cast cyl dasa 992 built by xscream. So for the top deck I started with the front portion and hood from a 650sx, the hood was previously modified from a freestyle hood project I had started but never finished. The reason for using the 650sx top deck is that I like the way the hood opens and gives more access to the front of the ski. For the tray floor I used some flexable wood and for the sides I used pink foam. To make sure the top deck would fit the bottom perfectly I just screwed it right onto the bottom deck and started from there. To make the top deck fit the wider botom deck I first cut 3" off the bottom of the top deck to give it the nice low profile look I was going for. Then I had to cut both the hood and top deck length wise down the center and widen them to match the width of the bottom deck. Next I used pur foam and bondo to start getting the shape I wanted, again a very time consuming process

After lowering the the top deck the hood seal line was too low, so I used some brackets to hold it in place while I glassed over it and cut a new hood line the sits higher out of the water. The other pic shows the tray area roughed in with pour foam

Here's some shots of the top just before I cut the hood off and built a hood seal flange

Here it is with the hood cut off and the hood seal flange added, I went with the sxr type hood seal and flange. You can kinda see the lines of the hull now, but they show much better with paint :)

Next I blocked down all the primer and got all the lines nice and strait. Then I cut up some thin wood sheets braced with 2x4s and put them around the hood and the top deck to create a flange for the mold and used bondo and clay to fill the voids

So are you really doing this much work in a day? or is this thing really already on the water and you are just holding out on us? lol either way looking BA

Haha, I started this project almost 2 years ago and am posting up the pics I took along the way, I have 100's of hours in to it. And yes it is on the water now, I should get to that part pretty soon :)

I love this build thread....no time for bs drama to occur. Don't post about it until it's done and possibly proven. Good work man...I love the lines of the hull! Its a cool mixture of shape and smooth edges.
