mine was crap... it wasn't even the right length when i just compared it to an oem cable. it lasted me a season before it started locking up in the salt.

i bought it because i could get it next day. i will never do that again.

oem only on motor mounts, cables, and electronics for me

I ordered one about 5 years ago, got it in and it would not fit, it was a SN cable. Sent it back. Same part number for the RN as SN. Dont know if they made any changes.

i think that might be what happened to me. it said 90-07 superjet

it sure as hell didn't work right on my RN. it actually ended up bending and snapping and then i re threaded the end and it was the right length. unfortunately by then it was all bound up inside. WSM is good for some things just not stuff like that.

It is my understanding that RN and SN cables are the same except SN is about 3" longer.

Also, I think motion pro cables are better than wsm.

Then it cannot be the same. The same is just that, exact match!

;)

The one I got was longer, I tried cutting it shorter but it just would not work.

Ahhggg..now I am regretting this.....should have gotten OE....ah well.....I ride 99% fresh so we shall see I guess.

It helps to put some 3/8 hose around the cable where it chafes against the hull and waterbox. Even the oem cable uses steel for the casing (the core is ss on all) and once you rub through the (thin) outer covering it will rust and fracture.

i have been running mine like that since i melted my oem cable when i had a waterline get messed up. the waterbox got hot enough to melt right through my cable and then it took a few rides for it to rust.

well lets just say when the cable gives going 50 into a turn in the marsh its not so fun trying to do damage control steering with your foot.

i use about 1 and a half feet of hose in that area just to be safe now.
