Opinions, 701 SN or hold out for a RN

Lower pole yes but the claim was that the angle at which the bracket is mounted makes a difference.
If you are looking at the bracket as a lever than a higher pivot point will create a bigger leaver. The angle of the base has little to no effect on this.

lower pole = lower C.O.G. = faster spin.

I think you are a bit mixed up. When you do a barrel roll you dont plant your poll down on the hood. And the 15 lbs of a pole is not going to vastly effect the center of gravity on a 300 lbs ski when you talkin about moving it only a few inches. Vertically speaking at least.

What may help is having the pole rest at a steeper angle.

You guys are making the Square Vs Round differences to seem far more drastic than they really are.

Unless you've been riding for years you probably won't notice any handling difference between a square and a round. When I got my first ski (90 Superjet) I couldn't have cared less how it handled....I just wanted to learn to ride on a decent platform. ANY year superjet is a great ski.

to the original post.....if a Round Nose is out of your budget don't hesitate to get a squarenose, especially if it is a 94 or 95

You dont. You get the pole as low as you can once you go into the roll. For years I would not drop my pole enough. Just felt unnatural. As soon as I started dropping the pole I started rolling.

One of the best discriptions on how to roll was told to me by a friend. He basically said drop your sholder and try to look under your ski. The only way to do this is by dropping your pole down as low as possible.

Also, check with freestylegeek, he will tell you the same thing.

Funny thing I remember back from 2004 or so there was a guy in Florida that no matter how many hulls he went through, the SN was the shiznet, he would paint one up. Crush the nose, rip the nose off, replace the hull, repaint............... and then it happened. This guy picked up a RN, got it set up and guess what. lets just say he had a change of heart. This guy was as opinionated, diehard as anybody gets. You cannot change his mind for nothing. Nothing you can say, tell him, nothin............

Just got it, worst night ever 200 miles round trip, have a 101 temperature, speedo cable snapped on the scout ... but I got there and the guy and his father were the nicest guys in the world, the ski inside and out is super clean apologized for anything that was remotely wrong.

That being said pictures ...

Layne, looks like you got a good deal there. That thing is clean!! Was that the one that was in Baxter Springs, KS? I had looked at it myself before I got the SXR.

we see pics of ski's on here all the time....lets see pics of the scout.

Well I don't think I have any good ones honestly, just left it over at my parents house until I can get working on it again. It's a love hate relationship between me and Scout (you know Scout breaks I curse, Scout runs through damn near anything I giggle).

You can't just go running around asking to see her undercarriage, gotta take her to dinner maybe even fill up the leaking power steering before you get anywhere buddy, lol.

Yeah it is, I sent the link to a friend a week ago thinking he'd get a good deal because at the time I was looking for an RN. Then I realized what kind of deal this was, so I figured eh I'd give it a shot.
