Opinions on a few aftermarket parts..

The RRP pole is a pricey, but great addition, I love mine, super light and changes the look of the ski. I have a TBM pump stuffer, Advent ignition, dynafly, and dried out stock pipe (done by previous owner). This simple setup hits hard and is very smooth through the entire power band.

Sorry for all the questions guys, im a newbie.

I saw somewhere in another thread (couldnt find it again) where Blowsion lists the RRP pole in standard length and in -2''. Im "assuming" that standard length is the same length as the stock pole??

I currently have the Blowsion 0 deg bars and I could REALLY tell the difference between stock, I wouldnt mind the whole setup being a little shorter, at the same time I dont want my back at a 90 degree angle all day either....

They also list the -1" turn plate. Maybe keep the standard length on the pole, then get the -1" turn plate?? Whats your opinion??

Thanks, Daniel

I thought the RRP was adjustable length. You should be able to get the standard and adjust it down to -2.

I know its adjustable, I just wasent sure if RRP's standard length (at full extension) was shorter than OEM standard length, thats all I was wondering.

Thanks, Daniel

save your money for a aftermarket hull!

I'm very serious - I have been riding a trinity composites XF hull with a stock motor with just a wetpipe, cheap pump cone, and a $100 X2 trim system and can throw rolls and have nosed in on backies - and thats not even off ocean waves!

If only I knew this before I spent what I did on my SXR when I first got it!!!!

The money you are going to spend on those parts plus what what you can get for your hull you can easily afford the hull.

That you will have to talk to Bobby about, I have no idea how many he has to build.

I really couldnt be more serious about you considering this option - if I did it all over again this is EXACTLY what I would do.

I really want one for the fact of doing it right the first time, instead of spending more money, THEN deciding to get one, and having to do it over again. Its just a S**T load of money to cough up... Its definatly a toy I wouldnt sell, its just like my pitbike, if I sold it it would be nothing but a loss really.

Skinny, whos Kevin BTW, the only Kevin I know is at Precision Powersports in Fort Worth. Ive only rode with the Lewisville crew once (AWESOME PEOPLE to ride with) when my ski was bone stock, im just not good with names....

Thanks, Daniel

Been looking at the TBM angled reed spacers, out of curiousity, how exactly does that benifit anything?? Worth the cash??

Also, I was thinking on getting the Kommander girdled head kit, (stock bore) and was wondering if its a requirment to run race gas?? Heard some people saying you need to, some say you dont??

Thanks, Daniel

I cannot comment on the angled read spacers. I have never run them. The Kommander head w/girdle is a great kit. The domes are interchangeable so you can get the ones you need if you do not want to run race gas. It really all depends on the compression and timing you are looking for. One thing to note about the Kommander girdle kit is that you will need to have your cylinders machined for the girdle bolts to clear. I am running 175psi compression with 6 degree advance on my SXR. It is doing fine with 91 octane. I would not go any higher on advance or compression without bumping up the octane or adding an aftermarket ignition.

Ok cool, I was debating on getting the TBM or Kommander head, seems more people run Kommander though, any real difference between the 2??

Rollin, did you install the R&D timing advance kit?? Or did you advance your timing some other way?? I talked to Tim at TBM, he said the factory wet pipe advances your timing out of the box (im not sure how), then he told me he would run the timing advance plate to get a more accurate timing. Im just trying to find out the most reliable way to do this. Whats your experience on this???

Thanks for your help,

Daniel

I am running the ADA head w/girdle in which a lot of people do as well. You cannot go wrong with the TBM. My timing advance is due to jumpering out the air temp sensor (jumper comes with the wetpipe). This shorts out the input in the CDI and causes it to run 6 degrees advance the entire time. I really do not have a whole lot of experience with other methods of timing for this is all that I run. From what I have learned, most post 2003 SXR just do this and if you are looking for more then you need to go with an aftermarket ignition such as advent.
