opinions on sxr 1100

Doesn't count if your riding a class with 2 people in it lol
I just saw that guy chase 2 weeks ago at a race dominate 4 motos straight in pro-open ski, hard to count riders cause there was so many, I think only one guy didn't have a 1100 engine but back to topic, I agree with #39 that they are not the greatest surf boats, if you have a chance to ride one before you build it I defiantly would, way different than an sj or even a sxr800 for that matter

Have you ever ridden and sxr 1100...?

Yeah. Built ones, stock ones (waste of time with cv carbs) tubbies no tubbies mag pump stock pump ect. honestly it's hard to enjoy that power unless your an experienced racer/rider. I think they turn better with an triple but not enough to justify getting one.

Everyone thinks that since it's a sitdown motor that all donor boats are good. Not true at all. What do you do on a sitdown when you ride it? WFOT the whole time. Do most people clear out the exhaust and water when they pick em out of the lake? Or do you think they pull the seats off to let the moisture get out? Rarely are they kept indoors period.

I believe everyone that says their 1100s are reliable. I'm sure after you found out your donor was a pile and that one cylinder that was at 110 vs the others 115 was ACTUALLY gonna cause problems and rebuilt your motor and put I bodies or sbn carbs and blah blah blah blah. I'm sure they are killer and fast and reliable but at what cost?

Sxr's with triples are heavy and hard to move around by yourself if your in a pinch. They drink slot of gas which means more time close to shore. They weren't cheap to build. Can't chase boat wakes or ride surf. Their dumb for Rec boats.

And chase I'm sure your sxr is reliable and I'll tell you right now your faster than I am your post just made you sound like a self centered monkey so I had to nip at cha. The best athletes in most sports except boxing are humble and quiet and that was neither.

Name callin, cool, OP if your looking for well assembled pre made 1100's there is a guy in Idaho, Ron Masters I believe, his 1100's are killer and he usually has a few to choose from that's if he is still building them, I'm not sure

yeah thats kevin. Seattle craigslist will show what hes got. Hes out of yakima. His builds turn out very nice. I cant say details on the donor zxi's but the sxr's he uses are minty fresh.

Ok ya same source, they are partners, in the sxrm the R stands for Rettinger and the M is for Masters, not sure is ron though, one of there boys rides for commander, just curious why you so worried about donor boats, sit downs are made to be dingus proof, I just got one for 400$ working with a new crank and cylinder knowing I'm gonna rebuild it anyway, for 400 I got electronics, pipe and guts, I'm going to be gutting a sick sick sick nasty sick limited 800 after world finals if you know anyone looking for good parts and engine
