Options for securing front of hood.

So my hood did not come with prongs or hooks so I am trying to think of a simple solution to secure the front of the hood to the ski. I will be running a stock hood latch at the rear of the hood. I cannot justify spending 100$ on new hooks and latches. I was thinking maybe a snowmobile hood latch kit? Jeep hood latches seem to bulky... I've been racking my brain and keep searching the same things over and over in google. Any help is much appreciated!

Couple of things to keep in mind. The type of hood hooks greatly effect how the hood puts pressure on the seal
And keeps water out of the engine bay. A Hard fall, with side impact can and will dislodge a hood.
That sinking feeling sucks! A lot of expensive parts reside under that hood! There are both OEM & Aftermarket alternatives. Choose very carefully your options. After all , its your ski and wallet!

If your going to be doing any wave riding, this might be something you don't want to cut corners on. Skis sink fast when the hood falls off. Too many stories out there about this happening.

No ocean for me, just lakes. Is the foreseeable issue that I only have one hook instead of two? Is the angle of the U part wrong? Should it face the front of the ski?

Even on lake skis you want to have the hood ON THERE. The Ada hooks are adjustable so you can dial in the fitment and sealing pressure against the hood seal. You could even keep that latch you put on and have 3 attachments. Extra insurance.

Place the ski on the ground. Now Donkey Kick the front side of the hood...... and keep kicking, If the hood stays on, then your fine. I see the hood side section failing. Water does not compress, You land sideways that water puts a whole lot of force on the hood,
