Custom/Hybrid Orange you glad I made a BOB Build?

Matt ,their bracket is a quality part for sure .i think a stock superjet pivot bolt works? with every build being unique ,custom if you may.each custom combination creating its own challenges of matching up stock components with aftermarket and vise versa.it kind of sounds as if you are expecting the ski clinic to publish a " how to "instruction manual to assemble their products with whatever aftermarket parts you choose which would be a huge task considering all the different combos possible beyond your choices .RRP handlepole fits on a bob easily its not the bracket.same process as a RRP on a superjet.just trying to help.

If 95% of the customers run a RRP pole, including the owners, and you make your own replacement bracket there should be at least some info available some where. If I could have bought a ready to go kit like x-metal I wouldn't have an issue. My issue hasn't been with the hull just everything else that bolts to it lol

Also, I tried a stock bolt and had the same issue where it wouldn't fit
So I thought to myself the RRP pole bolt must be different so I bought one.

At this point my polebolt is now stuck. I figured what the hell, they say it works so I kept wrenching...my parts look the same as DK's above. I understand it's a CNC making these but awhile knows...

I just had a thought... what if the rrp pole bolt I bought is some stupid Chinese remake or a fake? Like that whole ADA head deal. I bought from a reputable company though...

herre are some pics so you dont think i'm hittin the pipe and going nucking futs. included pole bolt packaging and part number...

you can tell how the bolt threads went from black to silver as the RRP pole bolt tried to re-thread it. I figured if i could just get it through i would run with it. Alulminum is soft enough but now its just stuck as you can probably tell with the state of the head of the bolt...

So I got my bracket back from Derrick Jr and it works fine now. I'm happy that they took care of that for me. The bracket was re-tapped and the bolt chased again. Derrick tells me it was the bolt that was defective but who knows, I'm not going to speculate at what the issue was/wasn't, I'm just glad it's resolved and I was able to work on my build. Actually I'm almost done so I'll post some pics, questions, concerns and my work arounds. (nothing major)

I found that once you put the motor and ebox in you are going by touch and previous knowledge of how things are supposed to be arranged on the firewall. It's pretty cramped back there and you have limited visibility, but its doable. I suppose I could have dis-assemble the motor more but I tried to drop in my motor with the carb and head pipe still attached. I had to remove the head pipe to get better access to the behind the motor. no biggie...

Once I got the pipe, waterbox and gas tank in the exhaust tube would not clear the gas tank very well. I had to add a couple inches of extra padding under the waterbox and angle it up more.

I also noticed there isn't much clearance between the b-pipe chamber and gas tank. I was taught to never let the tank touch the b-pipe chamber... So I tried to add a bit of turf to the gas tank holder/base that comes in the BOB hull. It seemed to angle the tank more but still couldn't get good clearance. So for now I just but a bit of high temp rubber in the gap. If anyone has another suggestion on fixing that let me know...

Another not so huge thing I had to do was cut the corner out of my battery tray because the motor mount area of the hull was in the way.

Finally on my RRP handle pole, I bought the fat bars and my start/stop switch is way loose on the bar now. I heard of adding a piece of a beer can around the bars to get it to tighten down but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas?

I also need an internal fuel fill mod...

Tomorrow I will finish up and post pics of the outside of the ski. I'm ready to ride just in time for 20 degree temps lol...

Ride it yet?

Nope lol. Been crappy weather here with high temps for the day in the 40s. rainy, windy and cold. I know I'm a wuss... that's probably a normal riding day for you Canadian guys... Daytona may be the first ride...

I am also trying to get the other crap sorted as well. HIN number requires inspection and its winter and the closest place to do it is over an hour away and only open for an hour.
