Here's some vid from our trip to Oceanside a couple weeks ago. It's our first surf ride, so there's probably all kinds of stuff to giggle at. Like BS'n out where you think the waves don't build and all of a sudden, you feel like you're in an elevator going up and there's guys riding at you. Watch the background for some good riding. There's a couple long shots of some of the Oside Crew. Post up who they are, if you recognize anybody.

Cool vid Jay! The first time I was in surf it was big and unforgiving and I was in complete survival mode. It was the hardest and funnest thing I ever did on a jetski. Im glad you guys got a chance to experience it! Dont forget, the big JK Freeride at Pismo next week. See ya there!!~

Actually jay I thought you guys looked pretty smooth for it being your first time out. I saw your son flip the big couch and get tossed. He didn't freak out, even though another set was coming. He rolled the couch jumped right back on and away he went! pretty good timing for a newb, you guys are naturals!

It was amazing. A bit freaky at first, but can't wait for another chance. The difference in feel from Ocean to flat fresh water is HUGE. It was like learning to ride all over again.

Salt water has more buoyancy (sp)...Makes it very different to ride...Those waves were like 75 yards apart! The pacific has the best surf.

The buoyancy difference is negligible. You might drop 5lbs off a ski if that much.
(salt water weighs 1.6lbs/cuft more than freshwater)
And you're not actually losing the weight power-wise.

The skis were so less responsive as far as handling went. The water feels thicker, it's weird. But in a cool way. It just will take some getting used to. When I was riding, I was like, "What is my friggin problem!?" This is normally easier. That's what I get for spending too much time on the short bus.
