the clip where you see the wave breaking over your shoulder is great,but if you want to get better second person action shoots and your using a gopro I assume? set it up to shoot in narrow field on 1080 or 720 this is about 90 angle,you will get much better shots of guys in the distance,u just give up a little res to do it,way worth it though

Narrow angle is only available on HD go Pro hero two and above. But yeah you're right. Fisheye wide angle makes the waves look small

Some of the wave shoots were from my Hero 1 so it had to be wide angle. With my Hero 2 the problem I've had with narrow is you can't see as much of the wave which is in my peripheral field of view. In narrow mode I don't think you would be able to see the lip of the wave because it is off to the side. Narrow works great when you are close like on Johns Barrel roll. Last weekend I experimented with medium mode and I got some good shots except for the damn water spots!

best way to get water spots off is spray rain x. i spray it on 2 times, wiping off each time and the third time i let air dry and is the best techinique ive seen. chapstick works too, almost as well.
