I was thinking of that... just seems too easy though. Is there any reason why you wouldnt want to do that? Seems like a pretty good idea.

I wasnt sure if the added resistance of airflow would hurt the engine performance... think it warrant some carb changes?
That is what I was talking about. He only sells them in one size and won't tell you what the mesh size is.
McMaster-carr has mesh screen even in stainless that would do that and it wouldn't break down. I think it is measured in microns I looked it up trying to find the right stuff for my hood but quit looking after a while. If you knew what size the fabric was then it would be super easy to make a cover that goes over the hood holes. But then you would need drain holes in casae any got past the screens then it could run out.
