IMO buy the hull & assembly your self... Or have Brian at Thrust build it with a Dasa motor.... My buddy got a price from Brian to assembly a hull & I couldn't see how he was making money.... Just a thought

I have built quite a few new hulls for customers, and I can tell you that if I charged for every bit of time I spent on each hull, the price would be astronimcal. I have a set price for assembly, labour extras etc. As mentioned above using all new parts adds up FAST. Yes, it seems over priced at first glance, but when you run the numbers, and have a ski that is ready to ride, it's not a bad deal. If I give a quote out and the customer isn't happy, I work with them to lower the cost with used parts instead of new, things they can do themselves, or just settling for a part that is cheaper than the one they had their heart set on.

Ski builds take time to do right...

My advice, ask for a breakdown of costs so you can see where your money is going and then you have an idea where you can save. Keep in mind that sourcing your own parts can often add lots of extra time with parts that aren't 100%, wait times, etc...

Go to an OEM parts finder page and price out everything that goes into a new ski.... Its insanely expensive.

Hell, look what a NEW COMPLETE OEM 62T electric system goes for...OEM stator, flywheel, full new ebox, cdi, coil, relay, bendix, start/stop, ect. Thats over $1500 alone.

New crate motor, new motor mounts, new waterbox, new gas tank, new midshaft, new straps, long exhaust hose, $2k MAG PUMP with $$$ trim!!, new mag prop, pumpshoe, steering cable, throttle cable, ect, ect. $100's of dollars in just stupid bolts and hull fittings...LOL. $800 Factory pipe, bilges, $$$$ AFTERMARKET POLE! Then you have to have all these individual parts SHIPPING to you. Trust me after an hour or part ordering you start thinking about going and buying a new $8000+ superjet just to whore parts out of.

Then your going to pay labor to have it the hull built from scratch and assembled turnkey.

Like everyone else stated there is no low cost way around having a custom AM hull completely built out for you with all new parts. I just with through this with my Q8 Sky and it wasn't cheap and I put it together myself to help save on the cost, but it is still very expensive especially when add in all the hardware and other little miscellanous stuff you don't think. You gotta pay to play, but let me tell once you pay you will love the Q8 as it is a blast to ride.

Jace Forest...BRAP!
Get the hull and build it yourself. These am skis are hotrods man, and hotrods break. if you don't learn how to work on them Yourself you will be pissed when something breaks and you don't know how to fix it. Plus it's a really good feeling to build one and then go shread on it

we need more ride reports on Q8s..... loads of ride reports for every other hull seems not so many for the Q8

i rode rattis ski a few weeks ago, it rode pretty good for the size of it, the way the front is shaped you can use it to grab on turns, it was pretty stable but not as stable as a superfreak

if you don't agree with my post, then ride them
