Super Jet oversized tank for superjet?

I did a quick search but didn't see anything so I want to ask if anyone knows of an oversized gas tank that can fit in a superjet with a stock pipe or b-pipe. I'm talking around 6 gallons. There are a few spots I'd like to ride that require long river rides to get to the big lake.

We throw 2.5 gallon tanks in our tray with a bungie cord for the long commute. Top it off when you get there ditch it on the beach then put what's left for the return trip. And make friends with someone who has a smaller engine so you can get a tow if you need it..

Out of those I ride with I'm the guy with the small engine.:splatt: Great ride time on my lil 650 though...

Good idea, the only thing I'm worried about is getting water in there. One of these spots has a 2 mile idle down a river with a few chances to rev out to hopefully avoid ruining plugs. Do you just use a normal red canister that you find at a department store?

Yes normal small red can. The new ones don't have vents and the one I have has a cap on the very end of the nozzle. We ride out in a inlet and get pounded with water sometimes. My biggest concern is the water that is on the can dripping in when I am filling but has not been a issue if I pay attention to the angle. I make sure it drips on the tank not in the tank.

if it does get a little water in it just shake it up and ride...it will burn, or settle to the bottom of the big tank..

the 701 twin will run on about a 70/30 fuel to water mixture hahaha

You could take out your fire extinguisher from your tray and put in a sig with 1 -1.5literes of fuel. Also take out your tool kit from under the hood and strap some more fuel there?

You could always just fill your engine bay up with fuel and bring a hose to connect to your bilge and fill as needed

should i use foam to keep the extra fuel from sloshing around?

sorry, I came across that thread again while searching earlier. :Flush:

I have found the foam is really only necessary if you don't honda wax your engine bay. But I know that everyone does that so it should be a non issue.

You could remove the nose foam and stick a small one gallon tank up there. Go even further and run a silence instead of waterbox and put an extra tank in that area. It would be deafening though.

To much nose slosh! I like it quite...and don't like dirty looks from other water enthusiasts.

Matt I bungied a 2 gallon gas can to my tray a few times last year to the beach. Just don't fall lol

every other time i turn i'm in the drink

Good idea with the tool kit hooks! At edgewater we have tools buried in the sand! In case Zach breaks ;)

No go with the fire extinguisher though I need it. I get checked a lot at fairport harbor.
