Ovp Steering

I think it's time I upgrade my steering to an ovp system. I have spent enough time on the stock setup (pre 08) and ready to try the benefits of the ovp plus moving the steering forward. This is my first time so what else do I need besides the opv system? Straightbars? Steer stop/chin pad support? Looking at the RRP x-lite unless there is a better one someone can show me. This seems to be the best that I have seen across all the major websites.

Jetworks makes one that uses oem bushings. Been using it for like 8 years and I love it. You'll have to heavily mod your chin pad however for any OVP system. You shouldn't need a different steering stop and either straight or riser bars. Personal preference on that one though.

Whats the benefit of aftermarket steering? If you want quick steer you just need a drill and a decent bit.

That being said when i switched to an rn pole for my sn i said screw it and ordered an RRP system from maniac. The turn plate is adjustable to match your steering nozle. You do have to drill a few holes but the RRP is what maniac reccended which is good as gold to me.
It works very well

We use/prefer the RRP System. You will need fat bars of some type. We have straight, 4 deg, and riser bars.

Install is pretty straight forward.

Be careful when setting the steer cable ratio, so as the cable does NOT bottom out before the steer plate hits the stop. If you have a 96-07 SJ you can take your steer stop out of the pole, and turn it so it is wider, and will allow a faster steering set up before your cable bottoms out.
