Painting a 61x

Hey,
I am currently rebuilding my 95 SN Superjet.
What was originally a suspected bad stator turned out to be a stuck ring and a cracked piston.
So hence why I find myself with new electrics from top to tale full engine rebuild 0.5mm over
Etc etc.
I have striped all engine block parts of there paint and I am looking to do an easy rattle can job.
Here’s the question...
The paint I have stated that the painted items must be oven baked to cure the paint. Is there a chance of warping or damaging anything doing this? I realise that engines get hit while in use but not over 200 degrees C and not will they are in individual pieces.

I've been doing it all wrong. I usually get baked for a few hours then I paint. Now, that I am aware of my procedural error, the parts will get baked too. Have a great day.

Did anyone realize he said 200C? That’s close to 400F. Is this powder coat or paint? I’d be worried about baking cylinder at 400F. I believe that’s high enough to remove sleeves.

Don't do this in your oven in the kitchen.

No you will be fine at 200f. You arent burning the paint in to fumes at that temp. My pops used to cook his lionel train bodies all the time after painting. Look how good I turned out.

I do HIP heat treating under very high pressure for a living and the big concern is parts bending and distortion. As long as your parts arent under a load (stacked, leaning against each other, etc) you are fine to throw them on an oven rack and harden the paint

Yes 200C that’s what I was concerned about. im thinking just do at 100C for a couple of hours. Hopefully it’s not too fumie. I didn’t want to go through all the trouble of assembling the motor using oil etc if the paint isn’t resistant to fluids until cured.

I did my engine cases and other parts at 200F after letting it dry for a few hrs at room temp. Turned out great and holds up well to fluids so far after 3yrs. Can’t say that your wife will be stoked with you though. I worked in an asphalt lab so had lots of dirty ovens to use

Thanks for the tips. The idea of over 400F has me concerned. So I’m doing 200F for 2 hours. One part at a time. Should be set enough to assemble engine and run it up anyway.
I’m very new to this forum so forgive me if I’m doing anything wrong. I’m keeping track of the work being done to my SN Superjet and will post pics and info at some stage.
Any one have any ideas for a paint scheme for the boat?
I’m tossing up between...
Black hull. White body, hood and nose. Black pole. LT Blue hydroturf. Or Matt black hull. Gloss black above gunwale. And possibly white hydroturf.
