Parkers Sxr powered q8 build

So decided not to sell as I've never rode the ski and really having a hard time getting rid of it . I've owned it for a while now and just now actually getting around to assembling . First things first bed plate was used and was my first issue all the wholes were wrong so I started modifying that and moving it back more to be positioned towards the rear of ski

total nightmare all holes were off and the motor holes (motor to bed plate ) were drilled off center so motor was tweaked

I'll be addressing that after I address this issue , stock Sxr shaft and carrier bearing don't line up . The hump on the shaft is an 1" and a 1/4 off . Curious do I machine a spacer ? Or get a different shaft ? Same length but with the hump for the bearing to be farther rearward

Glad to see you putting the ski together. Loved that ski..

Q8's use a 650 sx driveshaft. I can measure one for you. They can be picked up cheap on ebay and your sxr shaft is worth a lot more.

Okay please measure that also can u measure they jump where they bearing rides ? Mines 3.5 I believe . And they total length is around 23 and 11/16

Hang in there, once you get the motor aligned things will get easier. I went through that with my Vengeance hull too.

If you need help repairing the holes in the bed plate let me know. I can try to point you in the right direction.

Doesn't Rad Dudes offer a a/m bed plate for the kawi's that would work ? the kawi alignment minus the yam style mid shaft allows for a hair more slop .so in theory should be tad easier .but still must be straight or within tolerance .you might want to consider saving a headache and ditching that plate .

The plate I have is an eme plate . I've already got it and figured out the headache so no turning back now . Maybe in the future I'll get a more stylish one with out existing holes but for now it's gonna have to do

The cool thing is you learn. Try to have fun with it if you can . Here is a good video that helped me out when I was trying to fit my 155 pump in the kawi pump tunnel.

Epoxy fillers- basics.
I recommend West Systems epoxy. Thickened G flex (West Systems) is some good stuff too. It's expensive, but worth it in my opinion. Chopped fiberglass or milled fibers help with the strength.

Helped me out a lot.
