I think the JD plate is made for ski surfing. Mine slides around like wake skate, but I like it that way. Have to lean it way over to grab a rail and hook.
When I put the 144 pump on, the steering nozzle is offset to clear the ride plate giving the ski a couple degrees of trim, further pushing the nose up. I plan to shim the plate down a mm or two at the rear and bore the steering nozzle to try to reduce the effect.
