So Here are finally the pic's and spec's about my Ski let me know what you think. It's been the focus of all my cash and brain power but I love it and love working on it so heres the pic's... click to enlarge
BODY

First of all i bought this thing Bone stock other than the after market "I know Victoria's secret" stickers that i took off and had only 30 gal of gas pumped through it. the thing was Cherry you could eat out of the inside of the hull.
-Took off all the old Vinyls to clean it up.
-Picked up a bunch of Black Diamond cut Hydro Turf and put that outside my ski rails, the hood to stand on it and grip while maneuver around it, for my footholds, and on my hood for scratch protection of the hood latch and my hood strap clips.
-Replaced the gas cap with the PJS Chrome Emblem to fill the hole.
-Nose reenforcement brackets
-"Beef it" handle pole reinforcement
-O degree Freestyle bars W/ ODI beefy grips
- SXR Lanyard Start and stop Switch
- Bilge On and off thumb switch right bellow the O/F switches
- Jet works Quick Steer plate
- Primer
-Hot Producs Water Strainer
- Home made Handle Pole Extension Limiting Rope
- Blowsion Hood straps for SXR that i made Work:biggthumpup:

And for my most amateur but proudest custom work I have done so far.
:arms: The Footholds:purr:
I Pulled an all nighter the night before last 4th of July's Week long Lake Trip to Clear Lake CA. So they were definetly not made for looks being all the excess ugly silicone ive yet to clean up. But I just built as i went with one idea building onto another.
The whole concept was based upon the use of the Blowsion/Hydro Turf Lifter Wedges. One alone wouldn't keep my feet in, so i wanted to use two yet the pull of my feet would easily rip them out with the leverage of being so tall with no real strong base support. Thus my idea started with the concept of wraping the stacked blocks in hydro turf so both ends of the wrap would be glued down providing the strong and most of all, wide base to distribute the abuse of pulling up on the blocks.
What I Used:
-Hydro Turf Lifter Wedges
-Contact Cement (lots of brushes)
-Silicone II(Wish i knew there was Black... would have come out better)
-Stainless steel Wood screws and Washers
-BIG sheet of Black Diamond Cut Hydro Turf (also used it for my hood and the trim of my ski)
:hail:- 2 large Monster Energy Drinks(Wouldn't have made it without em)

I took these Photos with my camera phone a year ago when i made them. but its all i have of the process...

-The first step was obviously measuring where they were going to be put and what angle for my feet.
- I then glued the two Blocks together and Cut the grove for what would be for the front arch of my foot.
- Glued them to the ski at the measured spots and angles and Threw in some Wood screws and big washers for inner structural support.

(This was the wrapping Concept i was talking about)
-I had to use the diamond cut i wish i had regular for this but i had to sand, cut, and measure little strips of the Diamond cut as you can see to make the top of the foothold nice rounded and solid so I could pull my Blanket/Cover of turf over it.
(This took FOREVER to get and make it look right:banghead:)
-Measured 50 Times then Cut, put it on dry, cut again, measured, cut, Placed it on dry again, and finally Glued it on.
-Added Screws at the bottom to prevent the Plastic Stock 550sx side tray from wanting to pull itself off.

-Measured and Cut Turf to Match and Fill in the exposed sides
-Glued them in
-Finished with the silicone around the edges
-Luckily even finishing 3 hours before I left it wouldn't be less than 24 hours before i hit the water(drying time :purr:fect)

These are what they look like today
I Rode one time with a temporary version of these with only one on my right foot when i went to ocean side and it made control of my ski in the air ALOT better. So I cut the bottom straps i don't use on my back pack that bugged me and before i threw em away i realized that they were beefy enough to be my Foot straps. Thus, with a few more Stainless steel wood screws and washers, some BLACK silicone(i learned my lesson), and some careful measuring...

Bling- Toe-in straps :Banane35:
And Yes, I will get around to Cleaning up the old clear ugly silicone around the edges and replacing with with black.
Thats my SKi and Footholds Let me know what you think!
Thanks
-Mark

How fast???
Last recorded speed was 54 mph but that was before i got my Flow Control valve, Ocean pro head and pump reduction nozzle. i just need to hit some flat water with somebody on a bucket with a spedometer that can keep up or mooch someone's radar gun.
oh and it hits over 9500RPM at Full Boar under load in the test tank at my work, that too before my new head and etc.

Very nice!!! and creative. I used bungee/shockcord on my limiting rope it would run out of strech before the pole went to far, but shrink back and fold up under the handle pole when it went down. Very nice hood straps too!!!
Does the jet works flow control valve help that much? I'm thinking of getting one for my 440/650 conversion ski.

Thank you very much this one works just with the rope and a small bungee that does the same tucks it nice and neat. And i didn't realize those hood straps weren't going to fit when i bought it i had to go take it to my local shoe repair shop and get the buttons swapped with bigger heavy duty one's for those bolts.
As for the Flow Control Valve the ski gets on the pipe a little more i haven't noticed an extreme difference but then again i put it on the same time i put my ocean pro head on at the same time so it was kinda hard to tell where i was getting the performance from specifically from it. I also haven't been able to ride it often enough to know the keen specific difference. Im thinking about getting another one for my head pipe line but kinda risky if its a place like oceanside where you have to putt for a while till you can get the RPM's up to get it to release some flow without my pipe melting. But idk it was just an idea i thought of. open a Thread about it alot of these people would know first hand over me and would give you their piece of advice.

Where did you get your water control valve. Does it take water out of the pipe, or limit how much goes in? Gains bottem end or top end? Is it adjustable, or do you set it and run it in one position for bottem end and another for top end?

Thanks

Woah ok ill do my best
Ok first off i got it from Jet works and i have it hooked up between my stinger and my head pipe so it restricts the water flow into the water box to a dribble when at an idle yet when you get on the gas and the RPMs and water pressure go up the valve opens and releases water to cool the waterbox yet leave it alot more clear rather than loaded up with a bunch of water on take off. they are ideal for Hole shots. It also has felt like it improves my top end a bit too i cant tell you why though just kinda feels that way its a little more clear. Yes it is adjustable as long as you pay the extra 10-15 maybe it was 20 more bucks for the Adjustable one all you have to do is twist it with a wrench to adjust it. and as far as setting it i dont really know i think someone else asked you should open a thread about it im sure others would know waaay more than me. i was thinking putting another one between the head and the head pipe to restrict flow to the actual pipe but idk if thats a good idea or not. Mostly because of the chance of doing it wrong and melting the pipe and or doing that also restricts the water flow in general to your valve at the stinger making that pressure almost too weak to break through that valve. but idk it can be adjusted though...

hmmm. that sounds like the ticket for holeshots like you said.. I have no water box in my ski and with the rear exhause I have a hose run all the way to the back.. I wonder if i would benefit from it. I'll start a post and see what they say.

Thanks
Jay

here is my x-2, i might have to start joining you(if you dont mind) since i dont have anyone to go ride with, im usually limited to the harbor mouth since im afraid of getting stranded infront of pendleton
