How will this water box keep water out of your cylinders laying on its side like that?
View attachment 293947
I'm putting a 45* elbow on the outlet side of the water box and the from there it will have a s bend pipe that will go down to the exhaust exit. It will be pretty hard for water to back flow.

It will look like this.

Got my pump all re-assembled this morning with my FX-1 shaft, thankfully our shop has a press so that helped a lot. Ran into the same issue that @Roseand had with his solas. Didn't have the shaft pressed far enough in so the prop was riding on the seal and not letting it spin.

Also got my flywheel back from speedysprocket, took 10oz off.

Ran into some drivetrain alignment issues. I have a extended midshaft for the forward set engine (came with the hull). My issue is with the midshaft coupler threaded all the way on I'm nowhere close to proper engagement on the engine coupler. I back the midshaft coupler back to about 1/4 of the way from being tight and that is great engagement. My question is would it be ok to add some washers to the midshaft to get the couplers engaged properly?

Threaded all the way on

2mm washer (only one I had, needs at least 1 more)

I think with one more 2mm washer it will put me dead on for the coupler side. Should be enough thread on the coupler.... I hope, lol.

Brought in the other superjet I got to do some maintenance and swap my xmetal pole from my WCF hull over to it this weekend. Figure I would catch up my square until my other parts arrive and more funds open up for the Rokr.

Little more progress past couple weeks. Got my pump into its final resting place and ran my steering and trim cables. Pump took 2mm shims at the rear of the pump but other then that went together smooth.

Went and picked up some washers to shim up the small coupler gap that I had. Got pretty good engagement now between the two.

Got my dual bilge pumps wired up with some nice mesh loom and heat shrunk the ends. Used some nice oem bullet connectors for easy setup and removal.
P.s. only running the 360gph and 500gph until I can pick up another 500. These are just for reassurance since there is no foam in these hulls.

Got the motor in its resting place as well. No shims needed on the engine! I was really dis-liking the forward set motor at first but now that the engine is in there is sooo much room to work around the engine. Battery is easy to get at, starter is very accessible, and lots of room to pull the ebox if I ever have to. Only strange issue I ran into was one of the cooling fittings through the hull was setup for 1/2" cooling and one was 3/8". Had to run about 18" of 1/2" cooling line and then adapted it back down to 3/8.

Also painted the covers on the carbs to match the engine paint. While I was in there I decided to pull my my jets to see what they were and test my pop off pressure.

Didn't have a pop off tester and I'm too cheap to buy the mikuni one so... Off to Lowe's I went.

Cost me $16 to make and worked great. I'm starting my carb settings at-

135 mains
75 pilots
24psi pop off
Hi 1 1/4 turns out
Low 3/4 turn out

Spent the better part of yesterday morning removing all the old turf to prepare the ski for paint. Thank god for air tools, grinder with a wire wheel made quick work of the turf that didn't scrape off. Now I just gotta get some adhesive remover to get the rest of the old glue off.

Spent the weekend with the wife turfing the hull. Turned out great for my second turf job I've ever done. Deciding against painting the hull pearl green due to going way over budget already on the build "who knew, right". So the red will stay for this season. After we got the turf on we decided the build should be changed for "huck Norris" to "Harley Quinn" which I think suits this one perfectly.
