Super Jet Pipe and Carb tuning

Hey guys, I am running a 94 superjet with a 61x engine in it at 170 psi with an ada head. There seems to be a problem with the carb and pipe tuning. For the first half of the throttle it is pretty dead and then right after half throttle it's like I get hit with a bag of bricks and it keeps pulling all the way to WOT. I also sometimes get some bog when I hit it to perform a jump. I know this is probably a carb problem, but my pipe also seems out of tune. I read that it should sizzle when water is dropped on it. Right now, even after a wot run, the pipe won't sizzle, and the bottom and middle screws are closed and the top is opened all the way. I am running a FCV as well.

What would be the recommended course of action. Do I get the pipe to temp and then tune the carb, or do I get smooth acceleration and then tune the pipe?

Tune the carb to the engines spec then follow suit w the pipe. You can try closing the top and mid and cracking the lower slightly to get the sizzle.

Alright thanks. Should I use the recommended jets on factory's website? If not does anybody have any reccomendations for what I should use for carb tuning specs. I have no idea what it is set at currently, but the engine is as follows:
-Bored .5 over
-170 psi 37cc ada head
-R&R stage 3 porting
-Stock f/a
-Solas i impeller (plan on going to a hooker 9/15)

And will the sizzle give me the desired low end power or do I just have to fiddle with the pipe to figure it out.

I didn't think you wanted your pipe that hot??? At least I don't run mine like that... to me it sounds like your low is way outa whack on the carb. Not sure on the pipe. I would figure out how far out your low screw is. I usually start at 1.5 turns out and start working in until it responds well. Monitor head temp and check plugs after riding a little.. if it falls under load right away = lean...falls then gets some go = too rich. My factory b doesn't sizzle and I have mucho low end.

goodluck

I turned the low speed adjuster out 5/8 of a turn and I'm getting more power on low end off of jumps. Acceleration is a little smoother as well. I still get hit with a sack of bricks at half throttle but acceleration up until then is smoother. I'm getting bog on the low end if I punch it after motoring around just above idle. I think that's the low speed jet. I'm going to pull the carb off when I get some other stuff in and I can tell y'all what is in it. Any recommendations on jetting as it sits?
