Pipe Ventilation Disconnected

I bought my first superjet at the end of last season and have noticed the pipe ventilation tube spews out some fuel mixture every now and then.

I looked it up in the service manual and noticed it's supposed to be connected through the steering pole stand to a white tube.

So a couple questions. It doesn't look easy to reconnect the hose through the pole stand without removing the gas can. Has anyone had experience with reconnecting it like in the fx-1 diagram?

Second question. I have to clean the gas splatter in the hull. It's on the engine, the hoses, and the fiberglass. I was told simple green will work. Anyone have a good cleaning method?

You may have to remove the gas can if it's not accessible. Give it a try without removing it first however.

As for the gas in the hull, I would just hose it down with water, wipe it with a towel, and suck it out with a shop vac. But if you're really concerned about it then I suppose you could spray some simple green on it. It may not do anything more than water would.

The line that goes up the handlepole you are referring to is for the fuel tank vent. There should be a hose coming off the tank that has a check valve inline. After the check valve the hose runs to the moisture separator (the little canister with a screw cap on the bottom. From the moisture separator the line then goes up the handlepole and terminates in the white tube.

There should be no reason for gas to come out of that tube. If there is gas coming out, either your check valve is bad or is nonexistent. The check valve should let pressure into the tank but not let pressure (or fuel) out. The moisture separator and tube up the handlepole aren't mandatory but the check valve is.
