Looks like the pismo freeride has been pushed back a weekend to 19th-21st of October due to multiple events going on and being sold out. Find more information on the pismo freeride Facebook page

Do you already have reservations for camping?Have this horrible thing called "responsibility" that determines when and when I cant go places. Or I would have already moved there.

Don’t feel bad, I live 20 minutes away and still haven’t gotten a chance to even start on my ski.
Who planned this ride?
this is and always has been the joe kenney freeride. there are 2 rides a year, October and march. the best conditions and cleanest, farthest spaced sets are at the north end of the beach. day trippers usually ski between the first and second entrance, but you cant camp there. 15 years ago when I first started going to Pismo, we camped at the farthest north spot as soon as you can camp. the surf is cleaner and farther apart which is better for rookies and lousy riders. the farther south you go, where the dunes start is the washing machine. violent surf creates big dunes. the 4 mile marker is where the freerides are and that's definitely the washing machine, but better riders prefer bigger, gnarly, close together action. not good for everybody but if you want to ski where the pros and action is, then its mile marker 4.
I myself and a few others like it just off to the side of where everybody and his dog is skiing. I don't like watching out for 20 other riders and chasing the same waves.

I am going first weekend. So lets figure out a new meeting spot.
What part of the beach has the best surf and also allows camping?
reserveramerica.com oceano srv dunes. Best bet might be to get day passes and hotel it up. More then welcome to leave your gear chained up at my spot while you go back to the hotel. How does one book a campsite? We were going as well and cant shift dates. We plan to still be there and ride camp where ever we can.
