Is there a V cut in your ride plate?

Yeah. Just tried it out for the first time. I had to "V-cut" it because the ride plate would slap my steering nozzle and bending it on flat landings. This way it still protect the pump components w/o bending the nozzle. So far it's working out great.

Glad it is working for you. Did you notice any change in handling? This may be a dumb question but how did you know that was happening? Did it crack the steering nozzle or bend your trim ring. Seems logical that it could be a problem but just curious how you were able to know that it was happening.

I extended my ride plate for two reasons. Handling and to protect the pump components on landings. The longer plate extends past the point where the trim ring is bolted to the steering nozzle. And after a couple of huge flat landings, there were deep scuff marks on the ride plate where the bolt hits and the trim ring was also bent. So I figured if I make a v notch to give the plate room to flex without hitting the trim ring bolt and to also mimic a tail of a surf board. It would resolved all my problems, So far everything is working out. I didn't notice any changes with handling.
